About

In 2008 Jenni, Sampo and Thom lived together in an apartment on Rue Baste in the 19th district of Paris. They were all studying how to act like autumn leaves and sugar cubes at L'Ecole Internationale du Theatre Jacques Lecoq. After successfully learning both of these skills Jenni, Sampo and Thom were ready for the real world and went off in search of opportunities and riches. They ended up working together in Helsinki  as part of dance theatre company Hurjaruuth's annual Winter Circus production along with the future president of Kallo Collective, Sakari Saikkonen. It was there in front of the mirror in the dressing room, out of boredom, that the first moments of Members of Our Limbs started to sprout.

Member of Our Limbs (a.k.a MOL) was eventually created with cardboard boxes and disintegrating folding furniture in basements in some of the most beautiful towns in France and New Zealand, (apparently. No one saw the towns because they were in the basements) and with it Kallo Collective was founded in 2011. MOL toured all over the world with some of the most inconvenient schedules known to humankind. The tours ranged from the south island of New Zealand to north of the arctic circle in Finland. From French Guiana, to Tblisi Georgia, from New York to Mexico City. Kallo Collective has never strayed too far from the precedents laid by Members of Our Limbs: Non-verbal internationally touring comedy-based physical productions made out of cardboard in basements in beautiful environments....give or take a few elements.
